IT Connect is a conference that brings together IT professionals who are passionate about the future of networking. This year, IT Connect will be dedicated to the theme Internet of Things (IoT), featuring keynote speakers, workshops, online presentations, opportunities for networking and more!
Experts predict that by 2020 there will be over 30 billion devices forming the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT refers to the connection of physical devices, home appliances, vehicles and many other systems in a manner that enables them to share information amongst each other. IoT will impact the way we do things not only in IT but across different fields: medicine, industrial, mechanics, arts, etc. Join us at IT Connect 2018 to strengthen your knowledge of this increasingly popular area of IT.
As a public college, Champlain Saint-Lambert has been offering numerous Information Technology (IT) AEC programs over the years, most notably our IT Client Support, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP programs as well as our DEC in IT Network Management. Champlain is also both a Cisco Networking Academy and an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy. This conference is therefore an ideal way to keep up to date on the ever-growing field of networking.

Biography: A telecommunication Pre-Sales Engineer that loves to relate to complicated technical concepts and make them sound simple. A professional path that started in technical support working for one of Canada’s commercial Internet pioneer company that later lead him to consult businesses on their Internet and overall wide area network design and strategy. A little over 15 years of experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Stevens now works to make things simple for Fibrenoire’s customers. Fibrenoire is an independent company within the Videotron group that specializes in dedicated fiber services for businesses operating their head offices in Quebec and Ontario.
Biography: Alex Coqueiro is a Public Sector Manager Solutions Architect focused on managing a group of technical teams who design cloud solutions for government & education customers in Canada, Latin America & Caribbean. He is currently responsible for leading a team for helping customers to develop a cloud architecture focusing on mapping Amazon Web Services solution capabilities to business needs.
Biography: Christine Couture has been involved in the lighting industry for the last 23 years. She has extensive knowledge of different lighting technologies used to create ambience needed by the customers, reduce energy consumption and implement lighting control strategies. Her vast experience with a diverse clientele such as consultants, electrical distributors, contractors in commercial, institutional and in industrial environment makes her be an actor in the biggest challenge of this traditional industry that is about to get into the POE and IoT world. Working for the last two years as the Regional Sales Manager – Eastern Region for technology company like Cree helps her ease the implementation of a new way of integrating efficient lighting and building control solutions, ultimately giving a better experience to the customer.
Biography: Wemba is a Technology Strategist at Microsoft Canada. He is passionate about innovation and likes to explore new possibilities at the blurring frontier of technology and business.
For more than 15 years, he has been working with organizations from various industries around the world, helping them to reimagine and transform their business models, reach their digital aspirations and capitalizing on relevant business disruptions and leading technologies.
Wemba has degrees in Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration from the University of Bourgogne, McGill University and HEC.
Sylvain Denoncourt GSEC CISSP
Biography: Sylvain Denoncourt is an IoT Solution architect for Cisco specialized in Internet of Things solutions, industrial networks and cyber-security. Prior to joining Cisco Systems in 2005, Sylvain worked for 3Com , Newbridge and UB Networks as a Systems Engineer. McGill University MIS (Mngt Inform. Systems) Bachelor Graduate in 1990, with cyber security certifications GSEC and CISSP, Sylvain is currently responsible for IoT enterprise network design architecture more specifically focused in solutions for utilities power grid, mass transit/connected fleet and smart cities.
Biography: Abhay Ghatpande has led world-class product teams in diverse global markets including India, Japan, and Canada. He has over 15 years of experience building connected products and systems. He has distilled the lessons from his numerous success as well as failures to create the Product Success™ Framework. These days he works with entrepreneurs and business leaders dissatisfied with their current product performance and innovation efforts; who want to create predictably successful new products and services. He is especially interested in helping startups and is known for his pro bono efforts in helping them navigate the treacherous waters of product-market fit.
Abhay holds a PhD from Waseda University, Tokyo in Distributed Computing Systems and an MBA from McGill University, Montreal.
Paul Gallant, Eng.
Biography: Mr. Gallant has worked in the telecommunications field, primarily in telecommunications security, for more than 20 years.
Having worked in system integration in banking, development of embedded software on security devices (firewall, VPN) and deployed many wired and wireless networks of national and international scale, this experienced engineer particularly enjoys sharing his knowledge gained during his many years of experience.
Passionate trainer, he has also offered training related to security and networking in Dakar (Senegal), Amman (Jordan), Trinidad and Antigua.
Mr. Gallant has been with the Aruba team for 5 years and specializes in secure access on wired, wireless and remote networks.
Mr. Gallant has the highest expert level certifications related to the design and administration of wireless networks.
Biography: Tal has over 18 years of experience leading sales and customer facing teams in fast paced technology and services businesses, including several years in the contact center and telecommunications industries. In his role as Director of National Sales for the Internet of Things (IoT) at Bell, Tal leads a team of solution consultants that help Canadian Business leaders with real time data, tracking and utilization of their assets and operations through Mobile IoT solutions. Prior to joining Bell, Tal worked for several years in the cloud and IoT premium technical support space providing solutions to help customers find the right solutions for their business needs and providing them premium support services to assist with set up and on-going support needs. Tal holds a an Engineering degree from McMaster University.
Biography: Étienne Simard has over 25 years of experience in large-scale telecommunication networks, including IoT, LAN, Collaboration, DataCenter and WLAN technologies. He attended the Royal Military College in St-Jean d’Iberville where he earned a degree in Computer Sciences. Throughout his career, he has been involved in many aspects of the business from project engineering, network planning, deployment and testing of complex telecommunication networks. He has been with Cisco for the last 7 years where he occupies the role of Network Engineering Consultant. He is a solution based thinker and uses strategies and innovation to make customers successful.
Biography: Guillaume has a bachelor’s degree and a technical degree in Industrial design. He is versatile and creative. He started his career by working for an entertainment design firm in Montréal. He is responsible for many urban installations like the banana bench at the Mont-Royal metro station. He continued his career in several technology and Iot companies like Smartika who had the goal to democratize connected home. He now works for an architectural lighting agency and makes projects all around the world.
Biography: Shohei is in charge of all the customer facing technical business unit operations including technical support, solution architecture and partner management. He was a former AWS cloud support manager overseeing security related AWS services and Japan specific operation in Seattle head quarters.
Biography: As a multidisciplinary designer, Diana Horqque is passionate about growing ideas into innovations. At District 3, she supports teams in all aspects of their project, from design to ideation and production. She has been working as a designer since 2010 in both corporations and the startup ecosystem. She is a firm believer in collaboration and fostering creativity.
Prior to District 3, Diana was lead designer for a smart textile startup which developed motion tracking garments. There she honed her technical expertise, critical thinking and design skills.
Diana holds a DEC in Industrial design, BFA in Design from Concordia University, as well as certifications in technical garment design and ecological building design.
